This is starting to sound like proper rag talk here. Fucking embarrasing and annoying in equal measure.

We should have won the league cup also. We should have won the league easier than we did. And 2 seasons in champs league without getting out of the group stage. He held us back. I could of won the league with the squad he had at his disposal.

We achieved 89 points in our league winning season. One of the highest totals ever.
As United also achieved 89 points that season, is winning it more easily achieving close to 100? Or perhaps we should have got more than 100?

I have my opinion and you have yours. I felt with the squad we had he should have done better in Champs league, won another f.a cup, retained our title. He didn't and for me that shows we under achieved. My opinion.

From the Lescott comments mentioned above, it would seem we won the League after the players started to ignore him. Also, it has been mentioned more than once that the players may have lost the FA Cup either due to Mancini's demotivation of the squad or as a way to guarantee his departure.
I'm also disappointed with how we lost the League Cup in his first (half) season in charge - a trophy I am still certain Hughes would have won, due to him having more grit and determination than Mancini - and his treatment of the League Cup in subsequent seasons: in spite of the fact he was given the resources to fight on four trophy fronts, he squandered one (LC) and was hopelessly inept in another (Europe). -Edit- Second time round, at least, as well as UEFA Cup performances the second we came up against clubs with European experience.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the trophies we won under him, but in my mind that is more due to the resources he had to hand than his tactical nous or management style.

Why are you certain Hughes would've won the League Cup? We played the rags three times under Hughes and lost all three.

With all due respect mate, that's not what I asked.
I also agree that we should have done better in the Champions League, beaten Wigan in the FA Cup, and at least put up a better fight to retain our title.
But you said we should have won the league more easily. We got 89 points. That's an impressive total that very few teams will match. My question was - how much better should we have been? What do you consider to be winning it 'easier' - 95/99/100 points???

97 points would have been realistic.

Because I can see that happening.

So can I.
And Ross, it's not about being pro or anti, all that crap ended last May. It's about recognising and respecting the job he did at City.
This won in spite of him bollox is just crap. He had to breed a winning mentality into this club before he could challenge, that's a very difficult task. Tbh I didn't expect us to win the title the year we did but I did expect a much more robust defence of our title last year.
The impression I'm getting here is that if you spend money you've some sort of divine right to success and if that doesn't happen the manager is shit?
Good luck Manuel.
