I have been watching the political movements at the top end of football for some time now and it concerns me deeply. Most fans seem to have viewed each "event/decision/change/political movement", (of the elite club) as separate but when put together, they reveal a continuous story of increasing control of the game particularly in Europe, that had its seeds in the 1980s and has continued ever since.
Personally, I am now of the view that the Elite are moving towards the next stage and clubs like the rags and Arsenal are ensuring their blokes are in the right places...to defend their gains and ensure they control the future. The next stage being the control of the Global game.
It is too easy to criticise the likes of Blatter and Platini, they are only figureheads. The real power lies in the committees behind them and it is there where the clubs have hugely increased their power. Blatter will go in the next few years and the chances are that Global power will shift back to Europe. Through the EuFA committees and the ECA, the elite clubs have got EuFA pretty well sewn up. Should global power shift to Europe with Platini (or similar puppet) head of FiFA, those elite clubs will be in prime position to rule the roost and financially clean up.
I'll post my thoughts on how this affects City separately.

question : why do you always refer to uefa as eufa?
Original Dub wrote:Question: Why do you feel the need to put the word "question" before a sentence that has a fucking question mark at the end of it?
Easy answer I'm guessing. Because the daft fuckers that are the cheese eating surrender monkeys French insist that their language is the true international one despite the fact that them, a third of Belgium, some of the Swiss and a few Africans speak it. And "as they invented all spor" they now are the bosses of it. And so UEFA stands for Union des associations européennes de football, FIFA for Fédération Internationale de Football Associations.Nigels Tackle wrote: question : why do you always refer to uefa as eufa?

I can recall reading the term EUFA (EUropean Fooball Association) as a kid, it became obselete as it developed into the Union of European Football Accociations (UEFA). I still get them confused sometimes too, must be an age thing.

They do however, fail to mention that none of those managers inherited a title winning squad. Amazes me what they will do to try and keep the scum rag twats in a positive light.

kinkylola wrote:sickening article on espn soccernet.com comparing phil jones to mariano fucking rivera. I know there are not a lot of baseball fans here, but i'll just tell you that rivera is considered probably the best closer in the history of the game. He is a shoe-in for the hall of fame as soon as he is eligible. phil. jones. They describe rivera as "just about the most reliable person you could look to if you ever needed a guaranteed result." and that is how they compare him to phil jones. fucking disgusting.

This goes beyond the games the frogs also didn't invent to all sorts of other areas including motor racing - Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and even Fédération internationale des échecs or World Chess Federation.
The French truly are top of the list for the world's most outraged serial losers but we tolerate the daft twunts, because we are grown ups and we don't like to see children upset. So why EUFA? Possibly because in the language that us and most of the rest of the world can speak at least as a second language it might stand for European Union of football associations.
Were we involved in the creation of the game? Mai oui.
