me too
i really did not expect to win this one.
the team were obviously motivated for the arsenal and chelsea games and we know what this team is capable of but playing great in 1 game in 5 or 6 is not good enough.
game in hand , 1 point off 4th blah blah blah semi final blah blah.....people are just happy with mediocracy.
the fact is this squad now are capable of beating the best around and no....im not expecting us to win the league but i do expect us to be winning against some of the shite i have witnessed in last couple of months
9secondlegend wrote:maybe if de jong did play it may have been differnet as what we have seen lately he is turning into a superb midfielder but kompany is no mug either and lets be honest ...i have said this lots of times before ...this team , man for man we were far superior again to the oposition.
do you not rate barry? i like him and he gets about his job without standing out and making a big scene of things but you are right , the last few games he has not been up to scratch , but , he seems to be in the game more.maybe its becuase hes in the game more hes making more mistakes? i dunno?

I've always rated Barry, and was delighted when we signed him
And he looked great in the first few games but I believe I think I saw somewhere he's been carrying an injury in which case he should get it sorted and have a fit player in his place.
I was never fully convinced by Kompany last season: De Jong is far more 'the real deal'
But Kompany was probably rusty today

The Original Special One wrote:Its a question of players mindset, and we can't really say Hughes deserves much credit for last week's victory because it has to be seen in context of what went immediatel before and after.
But I still believe it could have been so much different with De Jong instead of Kompany.
And if an injury is slowing Barry down, he needs to have it sorted, because from what I've heard of his performance today, and what I've seen of him in the past two months, he's more often a liability than an asset.
(and thats not what I was expecting when I heard we signed him)

Couple of questions mate.
1. Why does Hughes not take any credit for the Chelsea game? Does that then mean that the players take credit for the poor games we have?
2. You mention that it would've been far better if Nigel played. Did you not notice that he wasn't even named in the squad, and that there was a very good reason for that?
On the point of Bazzer, I agree that he shouldn't be playing if he is seriously injured and it requires immediate treatment and rest. However, if it is a niggle, and he is able to play through without further injury, then I have no problems in him playing.

1). Because for a 'Cup Final' game, which this performance looks, in hindsight, to have been, no player ever needs 'geeing up'
2). Yes, and, as I suspected, it was confirmed that he had swine flu.
And we missed him.
Can you agree with me, with regards to Bazzer, that he's looked pitifully slow, and off his game, this past two months or so?

You think being within touching distance of fourth is mediocraty?
How old are you exactly, because you obviously remember us winning loads of trophies and titles if that's mediocraty? This statement typifies the over-expectancy that new money brings.

i believe our performances over the last 2 months on the whole have actually been below mediocracy.
i am 36 and i dont believe that i am being over expectant to think we should be beating hull, bolton , wigan , burnley , fulham and birmingham. do you believe spurs , villa , liverpool should be beating those kind of teams?

Very sorry mate, I'll make it really fucking obvious then will I, instead of showing you that these top teams you mentioned have indeed already lost and/or dropped points against the unfashionable sides?
Ok then - no, I don't think that teams like them OR us should drop points against unfashionable sides. Does doing so make Liverpool et al "mediocre"? No, most certainly not.
And this season so far, being 3 points from a champion's League position with a game in hand is most certainly NOT mediocre.
You obviously believe it is, having continued with this line of shit, so please tell me how, compared to what you have witnessed previously as a City fan, you feel the need to try tell the rest of us that we are mediocre this season?
