because it's the English Premier League
and anyway, 57% of stats are made up
Have you got a stat to prove that?

So therefore we have more possession & concede fewer shots on goal when he is on the pitch ?
Like in the first half at Sunderland compared to the 2nd half perhaps ? Or the way he dominated possession at Newcastle ?
Navas made TEN more passes than Garcia, & he's a fucking winger. Lescott wiped the floor with him for passes at Newcastle.
The game where he came on for 19 mins and where he had 94% pass rate to JL 92%Yeah you are right in the extra 71 mins he had on he did wipe the floor with him.

I hate to tell you this, but a 2% better pass rate would not qualify as wiping the floor with him.
But I said AT Newcastle, you thick twat; where he played a full game & Lescott got off more successful passes in spite of the fact that Garcia is supposed to be a midfield player, & Lescott is supposed to be shit at passing the ball.

You lose stupid games to teams who will be fighting relegation then you deserve a midtable finish.

It's good that you recognise football fans and not football players. I'd love to know how many of the smart arses on here that refer to players as 'shite', for example , actually have, can, or still do , play football.

I dunno, I've a feeling quite a few title winning teams lost to teams who were fighting relegation.
Maybe even most?
LookMumImOnMCF.net wrote:I'm not really sure what you're saying. Fans should be able to have opinions even if they don't play the game. I just find people basing a whole performance on stats quoted from somewhere totally redundant. Making fifty thousand successful passes means exactly that, it's no measure of any other kind of performance. What's the point in having 98% of the possession away from home if you're not getting results?
Maybe one or two have, but losing to 3 of them over the course of 6 away games? How many title winning teams have done that?

I'm not sure how many have mate. That would take bit of research.
From memory though, didn't we lose away to sunderland and swansea and draw away against west brom in our title winning season?
Breks wrote:
yes and threw away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 at Fulham. End of the day its 11 men v 11 men and relegation candidates beat title challengers every season.

Very true. Another stat is the team that scores the most in a game wins. Not rocket science i know but the point is football at its heart is a simple game sometimes overcomplicated by coaches/managers. If the simple things like passing to a team mate or shooting on target to force the goalie to either make a save or concede a goal or hitting the intended targets from a set piece are done correctly results will take care of themselves. All the stats then become irrelevant

If the game is so simple and there no need to know anything why are the dog and duck pub not PL champs.

Against Cardiff we fouled them 11 times to their 2 fouls on us....anyone remember the crowd in that game. Reckon that had something to do I with those 11 fouls?
Everton kicked the fuck out of us at home, they fouled us 10 times to our 15 on them.
Sunderland most recently 15 for us and only 6 for them.
This becomes even more ridiculous when you look at the possession stats (70%,54% and 63%) and realise that we have the ball most of the time, most fouls are committed when you don't have the ball and are trying to win it back. Refs are still fucking us over just in a less noticeable way.
