Great game.
Interesting to see how many free kicks Dowd gave to Liverpool compared to when he reffed us there.

I've near nothing but fond memories of Distin. Him and Dunney were stalwarts for us and he left with a chance to improve when we were going through a period where we didn't know what was happening.
Cracking CB who, if a bit younger, would've partnered Vinnie well. That is, if Vinnie ever played.

Me neither. Can't believe the stick some Blues gave him. He stayed until the end of the contract having served us very well and then joined a team who at the time were simply better than us and had more of a chance of success. He went on to win the Cup with them aswell. He wasn't to know the contrasting financial situations which were about to unfold for the two clubs.

I'm not sure it was Martinez as he had to cover the Sturridge sub. I'd put it more down to Dowd and his carding of Distin who then had no chance to get himself set as Dowd blew for Stevie Starfish to put the ball in.
I think that score suits us though.

Sturridge was unmarked when he scored.
Classic example of what happened with City when we made similar subs.

Not seen it yet but it sounds like a proper fuck up.
