THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Must of bdn, because i could see that majority of South stand where standing. So if only 6 got thrown out, it must have been for something other than standing.

Are you a bell end because you wont sit down?

They've been trying to sit fans down since we moved into The Etihad. It is not working. If it was a horse and it was called "sit down" and it kept losing when would you stop backing it?

I know fans of other clubs and they don't get the same hassle we do. The club need to address the problem and turning loyal fans against them is not the solution. 109, 110, 111 want to stand and they will not stop it.

It's an all seater stadium so your supposed to sit. I preferred it when we could stand but post Hillsborough it all changed, for all of us. Only solution is to have a designated safe standing block, like they do at Dortmund.

arguing with stewards isn't going to solve the problem
100/1000s of fans stand, only a handful get thrown out - i.e. the bell ends who take on the stewards
don't get involved in arguments you can't win. fucking simple.

Clearly think you know every situation between stewards and fans fuck me are you paid to talk utter shite!! We was ejected without warning due to show sec filming fans from pitch side as we are season ticket holders and not one game wonders in that block that night they would be pissing in the wind throwing paper ticket fans out but we are there every home game the blame lies with us. So that fucks your bell end story up or you clearly think you know everything. Look in the mirror you purple helmet

Not sure why you feel the need to differentiate yourself from 'paper ticket folk'?

And your post doesn't make a lot of sense, what has them filming got to do with you being thrown out?

But seeing as it was filmed and you weren't doing anything wrong, how has your complaint to the club and Showsec gone? Keep us posted

I'm not saying we are different I'm saying what one steward said. As for the filming again steward said we were main ones throughout the first half how i dont know when we are in the middle of a block with hundreds around us standing one guy next to me is over 50 and as quiet as a mouse we the others are all over 30 and are not idiots or confrontational at all. The club are unwilling to discuss this when I called they are writing to us involved that's where at. I'm not posting on here to get into arguments.

reading some drivel on here. they were banned for STANDING UP. Nothing else. What has the football come to when standing up and singing means your 'a twat'

if city try and make 110 sit down they can fuck off and im not renewing. good look trying to fill the ground with plastics city. we'll be lucky to get 32k for mid week games.

and song every 15 minutes.... well i for one sing non stop for the full game, even if im on my own. Which is why i lose my voice for a week and have trouble sleeping afterwards. I'm actually questioning if its worth it, i put too much into city.

The topic of conversation here relates to myself. I was thrown out for persistent standing but throughout the whole of this season nobody on our row in 109/110 sits down. It was the Plzen game which I refer to and because a whole load of day trippers attended the game then Showsec tried to seize power in making everyone sitting down. To see fellow fans saying that I must have been being a 'bellend' is an absolute joke. I did nothing wrong other than get involved in trying to raise the terrible atmosphere. City as a club are turning into a joke it's no longer about fans and all about money. Why pepper our emails and Facebook with messages asking us to raise the roof as they did for both the Derby and Bayern Munich, but then penalise us for doing so.

Stephen McGrath who is the point of contact for stadium ejection responds to your initial email with a generic email and goes no further in replying to any response you have for him.

I'm now banned for three games missing Swansea (gone), Arsenal and Liverpool. Top games to get banned for ey!

It cannot be one rule for one set of fans and another rule for others. And that's why I chose to stand and do stand week in week out. Without fans who are sat in my block the atmosphere would be even worse. South stand cannot claim to be the backbone of the atmosphere as us in 109,110 & 111 are the ones who start bantering with the south stand because they sing f*** all.

Is it the club or is it ShowSec?

I think it's a mixture of both. The club want people to stand and create atmoshpere (atmosphere can't be generated from your seat) but intermitently tell ShowSec to enforce the rules of everybody being seated. This leads to ShowSec staff releasing their frustrations on fans.

I've seen it too many times where these shithouses are more than happy to have a go at the lesser bloke/woman and abuse their status.

I'm on the side of the supporter who does nothing more than support their club. Fair enough, if somebody is being a bellend and needs ejecting then get them out, politley, but the way they go about it, and deal with it latterly, is not something that looks good on the club.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Guess what, if you would have sat down you would be going to the game on Saturday and on boxing day. It's an all seater stadium we have to accept it. I prefer standing but it's tough shit because were meant to sit. It's not worth missing matches over. You can sing whilst sitting, i do it and get my lad singing also.

Here are the emails exchanged by myself and Stephen McGrath who is head of security at the club.

Hi Stephen,

I have been informed today by fellow seasoncard holders on my row that my ticket was sold to another fan, this is something I accept as part of MCFC's T&C's however I'd like an explanation as to why this fan was allowed to stand, sing and cheer out of choice (in a similar manner to myself on 27/11/13) without being told to sit down by any member of your security team? Referring to your below email in which you stated that persistent standing will not be tolerated in Block 109 since the club will be failing in its responsibilities to fans, I'd like to know how this incident differs?

I take all the points you make into consideration and shall bare them in mind when I am next in attendance.

Finally, I would like to add that the 3 game ban that has been applied to my card, I feel is somewhat excessive for a regular fan and seasoncard holder who attends weekly without ever committing an offence so I would like to ask if you could please reduce the ban so that I can continue to support the team I love.

Your response will be much appreciated

Regards
Gareth Caldwell

Gareth, thank you for your e mail received today. I would challenge many of the comments and assertions you have made about the events of last night. However, I will outline the key issues at stake and explain them as follows :

At many games last season and at this season too, stewards have worked hard at Block 109 , asking supporters to refrain from persistently standing. Although it is appreciated that all supporters will stand at moments of excitement, there are many fans in 109 who want to sit and who purchase tickets on the understanding that their view will not be impeded by standing supporters. The fact that certain people are persistently standing is the cause of frequent letters of complaint to the club. It is a customer service issue that I am obliged to address.

The situation at each game is closely observed on the CCTV monitors. Trying to determine who is persistently standing out of choice, as opposed to those standing because there is no alternative as their view is blocked, is challenging but often achievable. Staff are patient in observing what is happening. Directions to stewards are given by the ‘control room’ and final decisions made there also.

I am satisfied that you were persistently standing out of choice, not necessity. This is consistent with your refusal to abide by the requests of the stewards. If persistent standing were to be tolerated in Block 109, not only would the club be failing in its responsibilities to fans in that area who wish to sit, but the habit would begin to spread along that side of the pitch. Sight lines would then be impeded for spectators in the adjacent block, thereby forcing them to stand and hence perpetuating the problem along East Stand.

This detail may not be to your liking but I can assure you that the decisions made yesterday were not made out of impulse.

Your card will be suspended for 3 games and will be available to collect at the Box Office before the Crystal Palace game. This ban is consistent with that previously imposed on other supporters for the same issue.

Steve McGrath.

If you want to sit down don't sit where the people are standing are. Take yourself to the other stands where people are happy to sit. It's fans like you who coming and ruining it for the fans who have been going for years.
