I'm also plugging the newly-released second edition of my book, A Man's Game: The Birth of Mancunian Football and the Origins of Manchester City FC, which uncovers a lot of new evidence about the club's origins. So far it's had great reviews, including one from Lee (the Mancityfans one, not Franny) which you can read via the link.
It's an exciting time for anyone interested in City's history. A guy called Philip Neale has just published a book about our 1936-37 title winning season, while Paul Toovey is about to bring out his third book on the club's early years.

A trouble causer, eh? Actually, I was referring only to newly-published books, but if we're talking about ones published in the last year or so then Manchester: the City Years is a wonderful book, and Teenage Kicks also deserves a special mention.

Peter Doherty (AGAIG) wrote:Glad to see the site up and running again, mate. Got your book and I've got one of Toovey's books already on the very early years and enjoyed them both greatly. Do you know if Toovey's new book's out before Christmas as it'd be a nice little present (for me)?

Well then, all the tightwads on here can win a copy of the book on Purely Man City (link at the top of the page). I'm running a competition to predict the starting line-up for today's game. I've no idea how many people will enter, but if only one person bothers he'll win the book, no matter how shitty his (or her) prediction was.
