We were 2-0 down and swapping a defensive midfielder for an attacking one - the kind of substitution you should be making. If you want to pick him up for anything then ask why Petrov wasn't playing in the first place.

Now hes got a world class squad, he's changed the tactics completely, ruined all the good work from last season and we are getting worse. Tonight the players looked like strangers. No shape, no balance, no idea.
1 win in 10. Says it all. He's writing his epitath.
Time to see who else is out there to see us through untill the summer when im sure we will be looking to bring in the special one. Hiddink untlll the summer?
That tonight was the culmination of, bar chelsea, a pathetic run of performances. And its unacceptable with the money we have spent and the players we have.
Hughes seemingly cannot get big time players to perform consistantly.

Id rather spend 10 million on a manager who would actually deliver consistency. I do not place the blame on the quality of the players I place the blame on a manager who doesnt know how to utilize them properly. Hiddink yes please, Mancini yes please, Mourinho yes please, even Ranieri, fuck it Id take Walter Smith at this point, they have all won something. Now I know that opens the door for the "lesser league" debate but in order to win you need consistency something we are sorely lacking. If we wait until January players will cost 3 times their value. The season is slipping away, its time for hughes to go, we were dismantled by Twitchy and will be by Taggart in January. Progress has not been made anyone hanging on to hopes that we will beat the rags is delusional. Hughes has continuously made the excuses of a loser; "we were unlucky" "the squad needs more time to gel" "I need more time" "we were not good enough tonight" Its all just lip service, I firmly believe that he has lost the dressing room. The change needs to happen by the New Year or we will be lucky to achieve Top 8, this game against spuds was a 6 pointer and we lost it in spectacular fashion. Hughes isnt going to resign, Khaldoon needs to address this, we are in disarray yet again I dont see hughes stringing together a few wins over Christmas
Over and out

I think the owners have a long term plan which involves success both on and off the pitch. I think right now respectability off the pitch is more important than success on it. They do not want to be perceived as big time charlies who splash the cash and chop and change managers on a whim as that will leave them open to major critism.
For that reason there is no way they will get rid of Hughes before the summer, even if ot looks like we will finish 10th. Whether you like it or not Hughes is a respected manager in football circles (rightly or wrongly), if hes fired mid season it leaves question marks over the owners (rightly or wrongly). If we finish the season in 10th no-one will bat an eyelid if Hughes is fired.
From the owners point of view they want to be the best club in teh world in 5 years, is it such a big difference if it takes 6?
