I saw the goat story in the evening news, but that management team would make more sense the other way round.

It was a Goat/Royle combo but I thought it was Oldham. Think it was a Cheeseman tweet a couple of weeks ago. Either way, would be good to have him back in the area.

I had a conversation with Mike Sumerbee once.He told me he never rated Uwe because he played in plastic boots,i don't know if he really meant that,or he was just showing his age as regards football boots, when he was playing they were like Doc Martins lol.

Seems Uwe has settled in and made his mark big time at Wigan already as they are unbeaten since he took control and now on the fringe of the play off places .

Great work Uwe !

He's doing really well and took them up the league from 18th, I think, to within 3 points off the play-offs. And to think, they were winning away to Shef Wednesday when it called off.

That was a really good result (McClaren was proper raggy in his post match, complaining of niggly fouls etc, ha).

I suppose we have to see if it's 'new manager syndrome' but the signs are looking good for Uwe.

I'm with you there Doomy, I to hold the view that he's being developed with that future role in mind.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Vieira has a long way to go to be a top manager.

Martinez is quality. I spoke with a sports psychologist who had worked with martinez at wigan and he said he has amazing attention to detail and is a seriously intelligent man.

He said he reckons he will manage barca one day. That is how highly thought of he is.

only reason he's here...but he seems very grateful and who can blame him. Not just any club that will groom you like this. Kinda like Madrid (maybe) are doing with Zisou? In his case, I can't tell if he wants it or if he's just a fucking goofball. Paddy tho i think will excel...really looking forward to the next 10 years with this club....spine-tingling tbh.

Happy New Year Herb...you cunt.

cheers

I don't doubt that OD, Martinez is obviously twice the manager that moyes will ever be (his performance with EFC v moyes lays that out), and I'd be chuffed to see him at the Etihad for a stint if Pellegrini's cycle is complete before PV is polished for the role, but I do believe that PV is undertaking a structured development to ultimately fill the role. Also that he will be followed by another man of similar stature on the same journey as Manchester City take the barca 'in house development' model and expand it to the next level.
