Martinez is quality. I spoke with a sports psychologist who had worked with martinez at wigan and he said he has amazing attention to detail and is a seriously intelligent man.
He said he reckons he will manage barca one day. That is how highly thought of he is.
I don't doubt that OD, Martinez is obviously twice the manager that moyes will ever be (his performance with EFC v moyes lays that out), and I'd be chuffed to see him at the Etihad for a stint if Pellegrini's cycle is complete before PV is polished for the role, but I do believe that PV is undertaking a structured development to ultimately fill the role. Also that he will be followed by another man of similar stature on the same journey as Manchester City take the barca 'in house development' model and expand it to the next level.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.
