BTW, Pellers never stated this but it carries on the pretext that it is ours to lose. How the fuck is it ours to lose, we're not even top!?
Do we have to win something or just come close? I think we should win something but (apart from the league) it's down to a one off.

I think he's under no illusions about the expectations that are appropriate from the owners from an investment like they made in the summer. £100m of talent added to a squad that finished 2nd and runners up in the premier domestic competition.
It's not a huge leap from there to expect to win at least one of those this season along with an improved champions league showing.
Harking back to the 5 trophies in 5 years thing, it seems there is an expectation of some form of silverware each season from now on which I think is a fair request from the owners when we have by far the best squad on paper in the league.

We have a good thing going on, so no harm done if we have to wait a bit, but we all know why we are in the game

I feel it comes down to circumstance, especially in Cups (more emphasis on Domestic after Arsenal were beat by Brentford?). Given the current quality of the league competition I think it's fair to say that if a team of equal investment or thereabouts is just as good as ours and the results state it, then second is not bad at all. Silverware is for those who deserve it, and earn it.

Course we have to win something this year - something as well as the Carling Cup.

Its likely we are going to meet the rags in the league cup final too, and I'd be gutted if we didn't win that. Actually I feel it would be really vitally important we didn't lose that, as if Moyes ends up with a trophy this year after otherwise doing so badly would be hard to take.
God I hate them.
Anyway, if we did somehow miss out on everything this year I wouldn't be calling to get rid of Pelligrini, I think its very important we stick with him. But for sure it would be a big disappointment if we don't win anything this year.

We played like a bunch of cunts very often. The FA cup final was not atypical.

Especially against Wigan.
As for winning trophies, I think we should be expected to win one this season. The League Cup thing seems to be our best bet but I'd be disappointed if we didn't win the league (but not shocked). Winning a trophy 'the Pellegrini way' will cement his position within the club and can't come soon enough for me.
