What can we expect from Mancini then?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

What can we expect from Mancini then?

Postby 10.Goater_Legend » Sat Dec 19, 2009 8:13 pm

Does anyone have any knowledge on the type of football we will now play, what tactics, formation we will deploy? I honestly know nothing about Roberto Mancini apart from he did a top job at Inter and Lazio.

And I would just like to say thank you to Mark Hughes for his efforts and I hope things work out for him in the future.

This is what an inter fan who posts on the other place had to say about the appointment of Mancini

Congrats guys, I'm a HUGE mancini fan.

Been following him since he started he's managerial career in italy. Not a single year past by with him that he didn't win a trophy. HE IS A WINNER.

People (in here) say that he plays a boring football but that is simply not true. With lazio the team played an attacking very compatitive football and he won the coppa italia.

I'm pretty certain that he'll be a success in england. He's a great man manager and knows how to motivate he's players. Personaly i "always" rated him higher than Mourinho. You will like him nodoubt.....

The thing about Mancini that i like is that he always create a winning team out of an "un-winning" teams. When he took over the Lazio job, lazio back then were a team that was struggling soo much with their debts and couldn't sign decent players but he turned that team into a winning team with a very compatitive attitude.

The players played their hearts out and he made some un-known players into a known stars (atleast demosticaly) players like Pandev, manfredini and others. Like i said I'm a fan of the guy and the work that he's done over in Inter and looking back at the Inter that he created i can easilly see a better team than the one that mourinho is creating right now.

Have faith in the guy and you won't regret it....

According to a reporter, based in Milan, who gave a resume of his career, his attitude is that if you play good football the results will come.
"You sir, will either be hung as a traitor or die of the pox"
"That sir, depends on whether I embrace your principles or your mistress"

I am genuinely surprised no one has answered your question yet.

To get consistency (stability perhaps a better word?) you need the right appointment first. To build a dynasty you need the right appointment first. If Pearce had still been in charge when the takeover had happened how long would youhave given him to prove whether he could step up or not?

His philosophy is simple; build a team - defenders are there to defend, midfielders are there to open up the opposition, forwards are there to score goals, or, when they are not scoring goals, to help the team score goals.

Do you know Mancini personally Soc? Or at least read his autobiography? You seem to be a Roberto Mancini expert?

He won't be given enough time to implement what he wants to do anyway.

Yes he will. He is Khaldoon's man.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. Does anyone actually know the answer? What formation does he favour? Is he like Mourinho where he has a system and tries to force players into it, or does he base it on the personel available? Attacking, free flowing football, or 1-0 wins? ta

Oh great, another Khaldoon expert! What else does Khaldoon say? Who does he want to sign in January? Where's he going on holiday next summer?

Khaldoon has appointed Mancini, which means he is his man, true or false?

Lets ask a slightly different question - Why Mancini?

Because he was available ?

Because he said yes to our offer ?

Because he is the right man for the job ?

Because Hughes was deemed not to be the right man for the job ?

Yeh I know. I think everyone is well aware that the board appointed Roberto Mancini as manager today but you seem to know so much more, such as how long he's willing to give him. what else do you know?

4-3-1-2. Inter scored more than 2 goals a game on average so not 1-0s.
