Once I saw Ramires and Mikel on the teamsheet I knew we'd win. I've never seen Ramires play we'll against good opposition.

He was against De Michaelis. I said quality opposition. It was Hazard that carved us up last week.

Well lets face it, most of us were wondering whether, good as our footy has been, Pellers was a bit one dimensional. Tonight went a long way towards providing the answer. On course to be the best City manager ever.

That's about right too, bloody embarrasing. Hope Pellers has told him he's not playing for the rags, and that sort of shit is unacceptable. Only low point of an otherwise perfect night.

Navas did something equally embarrassing in the first game of the season. He's not done anything similar since.

I remember it, it was the first time he was tackled after joining City. I imagined he did it because it's standard practice in Spain, and Pellers put him right. If that's what happened, it's even more standard practice in Italy, so hopefully Pellers will put him straight too.

I have seen reds and yellows for diving. It's the same offence, does anyone know why the varying levels of punishment?

Much as I don't like Maureen, these comments are refreshingly honest:

We had some midfielders to choose from which helped. We were threadbare 12 days ago.

Were the reds for trying to get a penalty and yellows for trying to get a free kick maybe? Or maybe they have no idea what they're doing.

Personally, only remember seeing reds if it was a second bookable offence, cant recall ever seeing a straight red.

I don't think refs will give a red card for diving as they have to be absolutely sure. It's easy for decisions like yesterday where Jovetic's attempt to con the ref was laughable, but for the Tom Daley's who've perfected their diving technique it's much harder to judge.

Didn't Corradi get a straight red for diving?

And Dameerto you could be right, like a reverse on the last defender rule.

I believe that's changing too, which is a good thing IMO.

I think Corradi's red was purely out of pity.

You know full well I have psychological issues remembering anything a out that time!

But anyway, it was a second Yellow, but had a quick - and painful - search and off the OS match reports it says:

"City ended the game with 10 men when Bernardo Corradi was showed his second yellow card on 90 minutes for diving, after receiving his first on the hour for use of an arm."

Hatem Trabelsi scored a beauty in that game too. We went to OT with a front line of Samaras and Corradi. This year it's likely to be Aguero and Negredo. How things change.

Pleasant win. The Ya Ya, Garcia, Silva and Milner combo and the roles they played, won that game for us.

Just watched the whole game again.

It's quite startling how differently you see the game when you watch it without the usual anxiety that you go through during the live showing. I knew we played well but i didn't realise how truly on it we were. Fucking brilliant performance.

There really wasn't a weak link on show. Every single player played well. Great to see Garcia showing what he can actually be for us. Enjoyed him repeatedly winning the ball off Willian and Hazard. Likewise Lescott - though i think most of us would agree its a scandal that he doesn't start alongside VK every week anyway.

Yaya was fantastic. You forget how incredibly talented he actually is. He's a genuine Rolls Royce of a player - his drops of the shoulder to glide past players were phenomenal. He made Mikel, Matic etc look like amateurs. Dzeko was fantastic too. His hold up play was the best i'd seen it in a while, and it's great to see Jovetic growing in confidence every week. He really does offer us something different.

Seeing Samir, Jesus and The Beast all come on and put themselves about so eagerly too. We're fucking lucky to be watching this team and this squad and i can see this kick-starting a huge run once again.

Watching the highlights again, you sort of think it's normal now, but how good was Silva's return pass to Nasri? First time, 360º awareness, at full pace and behind himself. Stunning.

I notice that this time it was Kompany who was asked to stay back for our corners when he is usually in the box
