Thought he was great today. Really showed fight and strength and held up the ball superbly, fending off 2-3 Chelsea players before laying the ball off on more than one occasion.
Will he start against Barca? I guess Aguero will be on the bench so it's two from Jovetic, Negredo and Dzeko.

Not sure Negredo has done enough in last couple of games to start so Edin in with a chance

The ball still bounces off him too often if he could improve that first touch we would be in business!
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

he's been at the club 3 years. I don't think his first touch will ever improve.

Actually thought his first touch was fine today and often it was whilst he had 2 or 3 men on him.
Starting to show he can lead the line.

It's funny how fans' view of performances can differ so markedly. I thought Dzeko's first touch was again poor on too many occasions and was frustrated by his lack of pace. I left the game thinking that there is no way he'll start on Tuesday

Dzeko did a good job for the team last night. Whatever the arguments about his first touch. He caused their cbs a lot of discomfort & helped the team a great deal. And he pushed himself & worked really hard, even when he was clearly knackered.

That's all I ask of him when he's not scoring.

I think that's very harsh mate.
I thought he put a performance in for the team and really fought for the ball. There were a few occasions as I said where he battled 2 or 3 defenders and came out on top. In other words, what he was asked to do. His lack of pace imo is down to a slight injury he's been carrying.
Let's get behind him.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting and tbh he's a big game player, gets goals when we need them most.

I'm very protective of Edin. He was tops on the weekend, one of the best games he's played where he hasn't scored.

I don't know is this is true but on my twiter acc who scored show stats that Edin Dzeko in last 12 games was involved in 13 goals witch means he assist or score goal , can somebody check that because it sound kind to much considering we did not score two games ? Also i don't know who two ask but where i can find Seria A games to download with English commentator if possible ?

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

It was one of his better performances for sure, I was quite impressed with him which makes a change.

Thought he was excellent on Saturday, but his ankle is a real worry. He was limping from about the 60th minute.
And if you watch tunnel cam he has a huge ice pack on it.
Don't think he was ever going to start against Barca, but with games coming thick and fast we need ALL our players fit.

I liked the way he took it on his chest and was already turning away from the defender by the time the ball dropped to his feet, did that a couple of times and took them by surprise. I feel he has a very big season coming, hope it's for us.

If you watch the tunnel cam bit on the OS you can clearly see Edin came off with an ice pack on his foot. He also looked to be hobbling when he was substituted off. That imo explains his lack of pace, he's not normally the quickest but he's no slouch either. He put in a great shift and caused their defence problems as well as laying off a lovely assist for Jovetic.

I reckon we'll see him and Negredo from the start Wednesday night unless Aguero makes a quick recovery.

Thought he played really well BUT of all all forward combinations it is Dzeko and Negredo that for me is the least effective. So if Serge isn't fit would plump for Jovetic with one of them (Dzeko for me if fit)

What I was impressed with was the fact he brought the ball down and passed it.
I hate it when he dwells on the ball and tries to take defenders on. That is not his game.

With the assists comment, that is another part of his game which is better. Previously, he tried to shoot from ridiculous areas, wasting the ball. Pellegrini has obviously mentioned the word 'team' to him.

I think playing with Jojo was a positive for him. They seem to have a bit of chemistry. Aguero - Neggers, Jojo -Edin. Good combos.

I wish he would practice holding a proper balance when shooting. So many times this season he's leaned too much backward when shooting and the ball just goes horribly wide. Correct that problem and he will add 5-10 league-goals more to his tally per season. Deffo. And we will love him. Everyone. Even Ant. It's such an easy thing to work on, I really hope he does it.

Mind, I said three seasons ago pre the fa-cup final that if only Lescott worked on his keepy-ups and dribbling to get a better base-technique when it comes to ball control, he'd be a dream for Mancini. He obviously didn't and both Mancini and Pellegrini have been trying to replace him.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
