No matter how you look at it, he missed an open goal from 3/4 yards out with no other player near him. A dreadful miss. He is not the first player to miss an open goal, nor will he be the last. Most, if not all strikers, have had similar misses when it would have been easier to score. The worst ever? Thats very subjective but it has to be up there, simply because most of the 47000 in attendance probably would have scored.

However he was in position to miss. I'd rather my striker missed a few but didn't let it affect his positioning to be there for the next chance. Whats the betting he scores in the final next week. I for one will be cheering him on with the rest of the team.

Almost everybody usually cheers him on to start with. If people stop cheering, it's usually down to something he does.

I'm starting to think he has mental problems. Some of his behaviour on the pitch is weird & defies logic. It's as if he goes through spells wher he is scared to play, spells where he is angry, spells where he 'can't be arsed anymore' & spells where he works like fuck, & spells where is loving it & thinks he will score with every touch, & it can all happen in the same game.

He seems imo, to be a mental case.

It was a bad miss. That's it. Laugh at it, we still won the game. Every striker will miss one of those at some point even the very best in the world do and have. It happens, I mean anyone who's every played football at ANY level will know that. Whether it be in 11 a side, 5 a side, sunday league or just a knock about in the park. You have an open net and just for a second you take your eye off the ball and it gets caught between your feet and you look a right tit.

No, he should just get stuck in more, cut out the strops, focus 100% of the time.

Take the Jovetic shot t'other day as an example, Dzeko looks for the pass when admittedly well placed, when he sees it's not coming his way he stops and reacts similar to Harry Enfield's teenage character Kevin. Any striker worth his salt would be chasing in after in case the keeper spills it.

1) Many of us would also find difficulty performing a liver transplant or winning a lawsuit against Microsoft. Dzeko is paid loads of money to score goals, because he does it better than us, not because he does it the same as us.


2) Those vids actually highlight why Dzeko's is one of the worst ever imo. Usually the ball bobbles or the player overhits it . He just basically couldn't be arsed making the effort to jump & get his left leg out of the way. Most would jump & transfer their weight but Edin was going through a sulk spell, probably due to people moaning when he couldn't be arsed reacting to Jovetic's shot, so was begrudgingly putting the ball over the line, & killing the game off, for us bunch of cunts, even though we don't deserve him.

Regarding Negredo: If he doesn't get his shit together soon, he will quickly be joining the Demba Ba, one hit wonder club. He is fucking garbage atm & we would have been better off without him in recent games. In fact with hindsight, we probably would have been better off v Barca with 6 midfield players like Pep used to do, & playing Yaya further forward.

Everyone will miss one like that at some point, from sunday league players to the best in the world, everyone. It's relatable. I'd say Villa's is worse than Edin's, the ball for him stops dead, wasn't bobbling or moving and he missed. The point is the very best in the world miss sitters. It happens.
I just think he took his eye off it and lost his bearings slightly. It was shite but in the end it doesn't matter.

Only 9 of Negredo's have been in the league. Only 2 of them I think have been away from home. It's very subjective to say it 'matters more' in the league. A goal is a goal and all 4 competitions are important.
