Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

City are a different team when Ya Ya is pushed forward, let's start with him in that position Anytime he gets the ball 20 yards out there's a chance ofa goal. Think the rags might be a bit nervous about what he can do.

Ted Hughes wrote: If we produce anything close to our best form, & the rags beat us fair & square, then they will have turned in one hell of a performance & all we can do is grind our teeth & wonder why the fuck they didn't produce it v Liverpool or Chelsea. But the chances of the rags actually doing that are failrly small. Improvement by the rags? Quite possibly. Sudden change to being that good ? Very unlikely. If we lose this, it will almost certainly be because we make a dog's arse of it Play properly, we win.

This absolutely ... I just can't see them beating us ... if we get beat, it's going to be us beating us ... because we don't show up or take them too lightly ...

So really the bottom line is how will the players go into this game mentally? If they think they are going to play a big team, they'll be up for it (like they have all season) ... but if they go in with this attitude (like shown up here in this thread, mid table, pathetic, no form, no defence ... taking them all too lightly) ... then we have already seen what happens when our players think just turning up will be enough ...

Gentlemen I sense a bit of complacency. Yes they are very average but this is a derby and will not be easy. Anything can happen. They will raise their game and I wouldn't be talking about arsenal just yet. One game at a time, any suggestions or idea we should take this lightly is seriously foolish.

Remember the Munich Derby we had an average team at best but we still won.We need to play like we did in the home Derby and blow the cunts away no taking them for granted or we will get beat.

We need to crush them. Destroy them. Stamp on them like they were a swarm of cockroaches carrying a contagious disease. Which they are. An early goal would help.

And that's my worry now the shoe seems to be on the other foot. United are coming into this game on the up after 2 successive wins, and decent ones if I may say. They weren't the greatest opponents but they still beat them both 3-0.

Then there's the Gollum thing. We beat them soundly last time but that was when he was bedding in and I can now see him playing like the Toffees of old, playing like the away team.

I'm confident that we can win this, and win it resoundingly, but I still get that feeling that it could all go wrong. My worst fear is that we get a player sent off early just to even things up, even if it's not warranted.

I was saying almost exactly this to my missus yesterday. Shoe is on the other foot these days with our shhhh quiet neighbours.

Still nervous as hell, them having a bad time doesn't detract from the possibility of them beating us.

We did the double over them with a shit team under Sven so it's not beyond the realms if possibility that we could lose. However I'm confident that we can overcome them. We cannot legislate for dodgy decisions going against us. Yes we have a better team but this is football and a derby so anything could happen.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I'll take even the slightest of City wins,if it means gollum gets to stay and continue his good work for us.

I would prefer a barnstorming 6-5 win to put he scouse red back in their box. Now they are top scorers you would think they have already won the league. Even Glen Johnson is chirping in with everyone wants liverpool to win it.

Really? Maybe they can parade all that good will around on an open-top bus at the end of the season. They certainly won't be parading a trophy.

I'd take two one nils in the next two games dont you worry about that.

This is the first of our dodgy away games.

Rags
Arse
Scouse 1
Scouse 2
Palace

Take 10-12 points out of this lot and i'd be happy but i'd love to win them all 1-0.

Nobody has underestimated the filth.

If City play like shit, as they did at Cardiff then they will probably lose. That also goes for most of the other games home & away.

But if City play upto the standard they are capable of, it will take a very strange set of events to stop us from winning.

If we can't put performances together in most of these upcoming games, then we don't deserve to win the title.

I would put the Cardiff and Villa games into the 'new manager syndrome' category. Everyone still getting to know what is required.

Apart from that we've lost to Chelsea twice and Sunderland in a game where we had about 350 shots and they had 1.

Since Nov 10th we have lost one league game.

We're not that bad you know!
