quietly brilliant today.

great team selection in the middle by Pellegrini today. Got Fern a rest and had a nice offensive midfield sub to come on for Yaya when we took him off early.

I agree. He does the sitting midfielder role very well when the tempo is low.

He's been our new Barry lately, I just want him to keep on doing what he's doing.

Perfect in away games when we need to take sting out of home side. Still could improve mind. His forward passing for one. Also for his height he should be a bigger threat at set pieces.

Still, all in all, a big improvement in second half of season and he will only get better next year as he nows seems settled in private life, which to be honest, it doesn't matter what your job is, you perform better if your home life is good.

Could even be an outside bet for Brazil. Good on him

Massively improved. Miles better than the invisible man at the moment. Pace may still find him out.Done really well to step up to the level he has achieved. And he constantly looks to pass forwards as far as I can see.

This last couple of months he has been immense. Even keeping Fernandinho out. Perhaps not a coincidence Yaya has been able to bomb forward more and have more influence offensively now he knows Garcia is a much more reliable player in front of defence.

According to Pellegrini Fern has been carrying a slight injury but your point is well taken and valid

He broke up play excellently and was the reason our defence had so little to do. Great game.

Garcia had his most Barryesque game v West Ham. His reading of the game seems to have gone up a level as he gets used to the league.

But he is too slow for that job in this formation. We need someone who covers the ground quicker.

I'm interested in whether Garcia has been getting picked because Pelle wanted that solid rock in the middle, as against Ferdy who wanders a bit and isn't quite as uncompromising. Or whether it was just an insurance keep Ferdy in reserve for Yaya's injuries. Or whether indeed Ferdy himslef is nursing an injury?

Either way he has done the job required.

He reads the game as well as Barry ever did and he's faster than he was at his best. He deserves his place in the Spanish squad and he would certainly be a constant in the England squad if he were English.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Fernandinho has been carrying an injury, confirmed. What's not mentioned is that he's had it for months I recon. Remember him being taken off after 30 mins in one game ages ago. Not been 100% for ages imo.

No he doesn't & no he isn't.

Barry is one of the best I've ever seen in that aspect & Garcia is nowhere near it, but is learning. Both similar pace;ie slow.

This is true.

Barry climbing out of a Sopwith Camel & lighting up a pipe, wouldn't work, but Garcia could carry it off no problem.
