You mean like his outstanding performance home to Chelsea??? & wasn't the only game he went missing in this season.Take your blue tinted glasses off. As much as i don't like Suarez as a man, this award is the PLAYERS PLAYER Of The Year, voted by the players themselves based on FOOTBALL alone.
30 goals, 15 assists to date from 31 premier games (he didn't score in any of their 4 cup games).
YaYa has had a good season for us, but you always get that feeling that if he tried a little harder in some games he might of be in with a real chance of winning rather than just being nominated.

With 19 goals & 6 assists from a bloke who spends half the game in front of our back 4, or creating play from deep with more passes than most players in the Premier League, you would have to imagine that Yaya has indeed got a very good chance of winning the writer's player of the year should City win the league & possibly the player's poty next season, as they vote much earlier.

It is disappointing though that his cheating goes unpunished, the authorities should implement retrospective actions for this blight on the game which would quickly eradicate it.

He will be Teflon now. The Premier League needs players to keep the cash cow mooing, he is that type, still cheats never prosper.....

Agreed, I think Yaya will get the football writers award. I dont know why people are not questioning Suarez's record against the better defences. I think he is a very good striker but 5 goals against the top 8 teams is a pretty poor return when you consider his strike rate against the rest.

Just because he doesn't score doesn't necessarily mean he's had a bad game. When they tonked Arsenal he was superb, hit the post from about 40 yards, set up a couple but didn't score.
Also scoring a shit ton of goals against the weaker sides is not to be under-estimated. It's often dropping points to the weaker sides that cost teams the title. You can account for losing a couple of games to top sides.

Well you are wrong. This isn't a fucking humanitarian award. Every one is always looking for some type of advantage. Some just take it farther than others.

Well any player is going to score more against worse defences. It's not really telling. Surely that's obvious? The fact he scores less against better teams is in no way surprising, in fact it would be weird if a player were to score more against good teams than the lesser teams.
As pointed out he has 7 goals in 12 games against the top 8. Not awful by any means.
I think people sometimes get a little bit too obsessed with 'big games'. It's not the big games where you lose the title, it's the small games. If we are to lose the title it will be the losses against Villa, Cardiff and Sunderland and the draws with Sunderland and Norwich.
