If he'd been an East German swimming coach in the eighties people would have questioned it but now noone does. Go figure. You're not supposed to become quicker when you're 29 or 30 but Robben does. Weird. Or not.
I had the fortune to watch a shed load of Barca games when he was manager. Teams Like Bilbao home or away would press and create a high tempo, manic at times, Barca worked the ball in such a manner the running was onto the ball and not off the ball as we all love to see, pass to the nearest man move. Simple one oppo switched off and Bingo, Robben plays right side cuts in. easy to stop for a left back, but never happens, he has simple instructions,
"The ball never gets tired" it is seen all around the Barca tour and on the video with Cruyf. We were running on Wed loads of it, sadly chasing back most of the night, that would have had PG on the roof of the stand.
