also maybe worth noting was how long jovetic and nasri took to come off the pitch.

clearly both were not happy about that.

I noticed that during the game too. He gives us control in the middle of the field which becomes more conspicuous in his absence

According to Sky we have not won away from home without Yaya for two years. Not sure how many games he has missed, so can't judge that properly but we need him back asap.

That was the fourth away game he's missed, we drew three and lost one.

I do agree though that we miss Yaya's composure and his ability to pick attacking players out in good positions.

A game we could've won, a game we should've won but we refused to take the host of chances that came our way in the 1st half.

Jovetic and Navas were simply awful in the final third and spurning those came back to bite us. We played great up to the edge of their box and overall the performance was excellent, but we just didn't put the ball in the net.

Silva was excellent and I thought the back 4 did reasonably well save for giving away daft free kicks, one of which eventually cost us. With a fit and firing Sergio and Ya Ya we'd have pissed that game. Not a bad result but not a great one either, merely a meh one. Thought Fernando did well too but Fenandinho couldn't find a Blue shirt in the first half and was disappointing in that key period though he did bag our crucial goal.

If we can be within 3 points or less of Chelsea when Toure gets back Id take that.

That's picking gnat shit out of pepper by Sky. Id say a deciding CL game away at Roma is a tad more difficult than most Prem aways.

Happy with the result today considering that it's usually a poor ground for us. What I will say though is that we need to sort the midfield out as we just don't seem to cope without Yaya. The problem there is that we are so used to looking for Yaya that when he's not there, and we see the likes of Fernando, it changes the play.

Hopefully Peller's will sort it out and they get it together now they've played a few without him.

All-in-all, a point at Goodison is not too bad although I'd say we should've gone on to win it.

I'm almost tempted to play Silva or Nasri next to one of the Ferns after today's display.

Jovetic brings very little to the table , much happier seeing Sergio back on the pitch .

Agree. I saw the stat on BBC, expect that kind of sensationalist shit from S*y, disappointing to see it on the Beeb.

The media report of a lot of distorted and abbreviated information, sometimes on purpose and sometimes through laziness. It's just that in football we have the first-hand knowledge to see through it, whereas for their other reports we often do not. Wonder drugs and diets are a notorious example when they pick on a specialised study and then generalise that eating something or other will cure every ill and make you thinner and sexier and richer etc.!

We have the best away record in the league. It's all down to Aguero, or kompany, or silva, or yaya....

Fuck them. There's always some excuse to knock us

Was always gonna be a difficult game today,
what`s frustrates my is the lack of shoots on goal.. we even pass inside the box,
would be interesting if Pellers had a rule after 5-10 passes in their area take a shot at goal. Maybe Wilfried can sort that out?!
A shame Nasri lost the ball to a throw in, that lead to the goal, but thats football.
Him and Silva should really try to be more selfish at times..

I thought City played the best football today, that I've seen in many many years. First half was mesmerising, jovetic and silva not being able to hit a cows arse with a banjo really didn't help, but the football that went before it was incredible pass and move.
