So that will be a strong pulling point for most players. We will have to outbid & outpay them.
Some players want to win trophies, some want other things, whatever they are (James Milner)
I like Milner for his work rate and Utility value, but yesterday's performance isn't the first time we've seen him just lack the finesse or technique or something, to be able to play the fast keep the ball moving kind of football that we are trying to do. I think he is moving on and good luck to him. He has served City well. But, I see him as one of the players that we could replace from within the club. I'm sure we have a suitable candidate in the youth set up that could offer as much enthusiasm and work rate and probably more technique.
If Pep does come, I say fine, he will probably draw a better choice of player during the summer transfer window. Would he use anyone from the academy any more than Pellegrini is likely to though? In his first season he would likely need to bed himself in first and have a look. Pellegrini is talking like he is starting to take heed of a few players from the youth, with the prospect of a few getting a chance.
I'm between two minds at the moment. I can see the benefit of taking Pep if we get the chance, not least because I think it would be a set back if he turns up in the Prem. the following year for one of our rivals. But I wouldn't mind Vieira being brought into the first team management fold with Pellers and see what kind of player that could attract. Hopefully either way we will see some real quality coming into the first team this summer and a mixture of some youth being infused into the squad to get us all excited at the prospect of next season.
