Having said that if we defend well the the top 4 players get it right we will win anyway.

Doug, I respect your views on football a lot and usually agree with you, but I think you are way too harsh on Bony. He might not be great for our possession game when we're playing teams that Park the bus (too immobile), but he's a fantastic target player and links up very well with the other forwards if he gets the ball with the goal against his back. He definitely brings us something we've been missing. It's just too bad he has to be used as a replacement of Aguero instead of a compliment to him, because of Kun's injuries.

Bony is,and never will be good enough for us as a LOAN STRIKER, hes a slug of a player.
When Nacho came on he was fast as fuck, got right in the meat for that cross and it was a GOAL....that's what we get from Nacho.
Bony has been nowhere near where he should be when the crosses come in.,,,,if it's not a set piece then hes in no mans land.

Sorry , I think the 5 in 8 games clouds over so many negative angles on his overall game as a forward and there's too many fans who just don't see it or won't see it.

yaya not starting is a huge plus vs the barometer of the premier league.

It depends on how you define a "lone striker".
If we play on the break, with Bony as a target and with Sterling and KDB or Navas on the flanks, we can be fucking lethal.

If we play our Arsnalesque passing game with Bony as the only striker, he's a fucking waste of space.

Spot on. I've tried to be supportive of Bony but he simply is not good enough for us. We looked miles better on Tuesday once Kelechi came on and at 20 he is way ahead of Bony who is supposed to be in his peak years

I'm really interested in seeing us without Yaya. With his recent form and the upturn in Delph's fortunes, this game could see a changing of the guard. If it works will Pellers start to use his as an impact sub? Will it signal him moving at the end of the season? This could be a watershed and I can't wait to see how we respond to this.

I'm judging Bony on this season lane, got lots to do but his goal tally is all I care about as we are light upfront and Sergio is made of eggshell.

Had an interesting chat with a friend who put forward the theory that a big striker will always look a bit shit in our side. We play with poise and skill, and the likes of Dzeko and Bony are different and we will always think of them as cart horses.
Ultimately though strikers are judged by goals, pure and simple. And Bony's tally doesn't merit the criticism levelled at him.
Also getting on his back doesn't help. At all!. The guy behind me on Tuesday never stopped giving him grief, even when he was nowhere near the play.
Bony can still do a job for us

I remember 'the guy behind you' giving Tueart shit when he didn't score in the first 15 minutes :-)
