I suppose I'm the only one who's not buzzing my tits off at this news, then. I'd have stuck with Pellegrini, and I don't think that appointing Pep guarantees success in any way, shape or form. He probably will do well, but we're doing well anyway. At the very least, I wish this could've been kept under wraps until May.

Just my personal feelings on the matter. I'm no Pep-worshipper.

I feel disappointed for Pellegrini. I have an immense respect for Pep and what he's accomplished and I'm sure he will work wonders for us, but I don't like him. I just don't. I like Pellegrini and I think his last two seasons have been undermined by Yaya's antics and the incessant speculation about Pep. But it is what it is, the shirt goes first.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I feel the same. I'm fickle though, how about you?

What was I saying on Saturday!

This is superb news, the whole situation has been handled perfectly for a change, I cannot wait for Pep to arrive and I'm sure some amazing players will follow him in the summer.

I only hope now our players give Pellers the send off he deserves, a pot or two, and not fuck it all off..................

The BEST Monday I've had in a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think it's anything he wasn't made aware of when he came. He's had a good time, well paid, done a job

Quite the opposite, I'd say, without meaning to blow my own trumpet. I've got behind every manager we've ever had - including Hughes and, for a time at least, Frank Clarke [shudder]. I will support Pep as well; I just wish this had been handled a bit differently (or not at all).

It's a great time to break protocol and post a link to RAG CAFE. Look, enjoy and wash afterwards.

Great news - gotta love Pellers for everything that he has done & the way he has always conducted himself but Pep is on another level & so it seems are we as a club. Nothing released in response to the recent news(??) that Woodward was holding talks with Pep. Then deadline day & we show our cards, trump everyone & walk away from the table with the pot

You sign Butt-Head, we sign Guardiola

I think it's been handled well the press release says talks started in 2012 so it's been on the cards for a while which means Pellers would've been aware of it. Now it's all out signed sealed and delivered Pellers can plan his future too.

Thoughts will wonder to where Pellegrini will end up next season, I think he will stay in England, possibly Chelsea or even somewhere like Everton.

Not a bad shout. A lot of our squad are reaching their use-by date. This season is the Swansong for a few.

All the more reason for them to go out on a high.
Strap yourselves in boys, hopefully the season starts now.

I do think that he said something about this being his dream or any manager's dream, because it was a project. By that I thought he meant something longer than three years. But I mean whatever, it is what it is. I'm not gonna be bitter about it, there's no point. Onwards and upwards.

I must've expressed myself poorly because that's pretty much what I meant. I did not get behind Hughes and in hindsight, that was not smart. Whether or not he was the right man for the job, we played some lovely football at times during his term here and I did not enjoy it. Not gonna make the same mistake again.

Pellegrini to Everton is a bizarre shout. Here's my prediction:

Mourinho to Stretford
Pochettino to Chelsea
Pellegrini to Spurs
