With all the evidence of corruption in tennis and athletics that has come out recently, we'd be fools to think it doesn't go on in football.

The media might not like us because we don't draw eyeballs to papers, the idea that referee's just hate us is nonsense. Hell we had bad luck yesterday, but Clattenburg could have sent Yaya off 20 minutes into the game had he really wanted to. Why didn't he if he's out to get us?

You guys are fucking nuts.

Wow.

This is beefy's fault somehow is it?

And I suppose these continuous decisions are just bad luck?

You're telling me that the very top of both the European and world football governing bodies are corrupt but there is no chance it can exist at this level??!

And yaya should have been sent off?

Fuck it, if anyone is nuts it's you mate. Not those of us who say what we see.

We have had decisons go our way in the past as well, one that immediately springs to mind is Balotelli stamping on Parkers head and then scoring the winning penalty (i think). Two wrongs dont make a right of course but i think all this corruption stuff is a bit daft personally.

Corruption shouldnt effect some of our truly woeful performances this season. In alot of games we only have ourselves to blame. I agree some decisons have been utterly dreadful though.

If someone did that to a city player we would all be screaming for a red card, no doubt about it.

No offence Edge, but your track record of pointing out the "main problem" isn't great.

The Balotelli "stamp" on Parker. That "springs to mind" does it? I'm not surprised these rare events "spring to mind". How long ago was that? How many decisions have we had in ONE WEEK that would out do that one?

Fuck sake. This is incredible.

So some people think we have a sport worth ££££billons - yet no corruption?

That we have - 'referring errors' every week that just happen to favor vested interests (that balance out over a season - ha ha ha)
Wait - how can we eliminate these 'referring errors' - more training, education, more people on the goal line.............
LIGHT BULB MOMENT: what about TECHNOLOGY that WORKS in other sports like RUGBY????????????

BUT then the penalty decision again'st City, the 2 offsides in the away match again'st Spurs - they would not have happened - right?
AND Rooney again'st Sunderland blocking an on-target goal attempt with his arm in the penalty box while on a yellow card would have been spotted - right?
AND ......

so why the delay introducing TECHNOLOGY that is proven to reduce these very strange (human nature - ha ha ha) 'referring errors'

well as people here say - there is NO CORRUPTION - so that is not the reason
and the authorities want TRANSPARENCY because there is no corruption - so that is not the reason
and the authorities would welcome LOSING control (to avoid being accused of corruption) - so that is not the reason
and it might lead to an unexciting PL run in - so that is not the reason
and it might damage their beloved Man Utd's shot at 4th - so that is not the reason
.....

I am out of ideas.
Help me here all those people who say there is no corruption.
What is the reason why technology has not been introduced to quickly, effectively, efficiently eliminate 'referring errors'?

Simple Simon says.......

I think we should consider getting Brian Kidd to do interviews pointing these bad decisions out and have the club pay his inevitable fines.

Pellegrini doing it could potentially cause unrest and a heightened media focus. Khaldoon is too high up and would be perceived as paranoid.

I think there will always be people who don't believe in corruption. And the only reason I can think of is the same reason that some kids pretend to believe in santa claus long after they know the truth.

They know that when they admit to reality, a piece of magic is taken away.

I would not trust everyone involved in the Premier League. The stripping of Portsmouth by numerous dodgy bastards was allowed to go on until the fit and proper had there money back, Harry forgot he had money in his dogs name ? Rednose and the dispatches programme of a few years ago came very close to a can of worms, but was buried. Rio climbing out of a window allegedly. No nothing bent.......

Original Dub wrote:Well, I had a discussion with Tokyo a few weeks back and I asked him when the last time we had possibly gained points as a direct result of bad officiating. He reckoned it was almost 4 years ago v Sunderland when Adam Johnson was given a soft penalty.

That discussion was before the ball went out against Everton. But even if that is to be counted as something similar then you have two decisions in over 4 years. Two.

We have had one to two match influencing decisions against us in pretty much EVERY SINGLE GAME over the last two seasons alone.

It's gone way way way beyond a joke. Money is ruining football. That much is true. But it's the money lining the pockets of those running it that's the problem.

They want the closest league in the world and they have it now. Well done.

Palace had a perfectly good goal chalked off for offside at the Etihad last season but the decisions that go against far outweigh those that gain us an advantage. I don't think it's corruption however refs are human and it wouldn't surprise me if some hold grudges against certain teams for some reason.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.
