Mr Popular strikes again, he Marseille BTW which explains his comments.

I've just read the comments on Sky and can't see anything wrong in what he said; although the headline is very misleading. He was asked if PSG could handle the rigours of the PL, to which he replied in a very respectful way saying that the squad they have would adapt because of the quality players.

He basically says that PSG are a match for English teams but not above them, pointing out that the French league is nowhere near as intense as ours, proved by PSG being 25 points (yes, twenty five points) ahead of second place.

Nasri can sometimes put his foot in it but this time it's the media twisting what he said for click-bait. Here's the headline and opening gambit, followed by his actual quotes. Unless I've missed something, they don't seem to add up?

Samir Nasri says PSG would find it tough on 'a Monday night in Stoke'

Samir Nasri believes Paris Saint-Germain would struggle to make their mark in the Premier League despite their runaway title success in France.

"It's true they have a big team, but I do not think they are above the others in England.

"There are no easy games in England, not one. I'd like to see Paris play a Monday night at Stoke, West Ham or at the Emirates against Arsenal.

"Today, the big four is no more. There are six or seven teams who can be champions. It's harder. But this is Paris, not Barca."

"Could they win the Premier League? Yes," he told Le Parisien. "They have everything - speed, talent and above all a great squad.

"Talent can make you win matches but only a collective allows you to win a league. If PSG were English, they would adapt without any problems to the local rhythm and intensity.

"Would Thiago Silva, David Luiz or Marquinhos be afraid in the Premier League? Certainly not. They're really great players who are capable of playing anywhere.

"The quality is there and it always makes the difference, whether that's in France or in England."

"Yes, PSG are favourites because we have a lot of injuries. We will sadly not be complete [as a squad],"
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

In fairness, he does seem to like a 3 year term, as do City. It would be more surprising if he stayed longer for me

I agree mate but it seemed the author was trying to play down what he'd bring by somehow him leaving us in shit state. Just thought it was a very strange article, comparing PGs work to Maureen's, which I find completely at odds to how I see them both. Yes, there's comparisons, as there always will be with winning managers, but to infer PG would leave us like Maureen left Real or Chelsea is just pure fabrication.

Sort of trying to put the dampener on things, don't you think?

At least he mentions Maureen to the Rags.

DM headline news ....BINDIPPERS,then the MUNCHENS and further down the paper ..its Citys game.

Its laughable the amount of ANTI CITY bias that exists in the media.

BBC finally has an Aguero main pic. Earlier it was Rangers (Scottish 2nd tier??? who gives a fck??) and Ibrahimovic beside it with a small story on Hart being fit well down below.

Watch the difference tomorrow for the scouse/Dortmund World Cup Final.........................

You can be as sure as shit that if PG was going to the scum the media would be lauding it as the second coming. He'd be rimmed within an inch of his life.

You couldn't make this shit up (or apparently you could), courtesy of the BBC of all places, it's really going down market since they realised they actually had to account for the pennies they were spending. This is taken from the middle of a piece about the match where he manages to slag off both CITY and PSG:

The money men don't live up to billing

This fixture was touted as a battle of Europe's richest clubs, with both sides backed by wealthy Middle-Eastern owners - PSG's from Qatar and Manchester City's from the United Arab Emirates.

While the teams have spent almost a reported £800m between them on players in the past five years, the game, which was entertaining, lacked the quality expected from such blue-chip line-ups.

Fernando's mistake for PSG's equaliser was a prime example.

The Brazillian collected a pass from Hart on the edge of his own penalty area and, while trying to flick a pass with the outside of his foot, directed the ball off Ibrahimovic's boot and into an empty net.
VIVA EL CITIES

"The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee ... has banned Mr Joseph S. Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

The Beeb have turned into Sky 4 central, controlled by Rags for the Rags.

People need to think about this, an English establishment trying to deride the only English team in the premier European game. And now we get Roy Dog Wanker doing the same.

PSG had chances but so did we, yet the Beeb want to play down an achievement, even though we were written off before this game.

"This fixture was touted as a battle of Europe's richest clubs" - well it was by the media. I listened to it on Radio Manchester and was initially horrified to find we were having commentary from Alan Green, a miserable sneer of a commentator most of the time now, but surprisingly he ended up being quite pro-city by the second half.

WW while you are 100% correct. I think the order in which these stories are presented are (at least partially) determined by the amount of clicks the story gets.

With our fan base vs rags, dippers etc this is unlikely to keep city related stories at the top of the page for very long.

They can pin them if they want people to read them. It's always the case with the media. I can't see the women's football article having more clicks than all those others

Yeah, I guess you could argue that if people aren't clicking them then why pin them.

Not disagreeing with you in the whole though. As far as I am concerned we should be headline news for today at very least.

Tuned in to see how the BBC would portray tonight's match in their sports report after the news at 7:30. Normally they would say something along the lines of "Good luck to the only British team left in Europe's premier cup competition tonight...............etc"

But no, true to form, before the report even started the sports reporter (Matt Smith - Scouse rag fan) turns to the sofa and asked the presenters what their definition of European elite was!!! Sally Nugent says "Champions League medals" and Dan Walker says "10 semi final appearances".

That was us firmly put in our place before the fcking report even started.

Anyone who still thinks there is no media agenda needs to have the scales removed from their eyes.
