Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Having slept on this I can honestly say that I am utterly depressed by some people's utterly fucked up sense of priorities.

I don't understand how having too much time on ones hands would make any difference?

Whatever his reasons were for wearing the shirt,Ade will be one of the few people who knows.
And whatever reasons he gives are down to people who hear the excuses whether they believe him or not.
However to blame his state of mind due to the traumatic experience he has endured as the reason for the shirt is way of the mark.
I'm sure he knew what he was doing.
Why?
Not sure many people know.

Are you insinuating that people here have not been sympathetic to Mr Bayors situation?

I'll repeat this for you and for anyone else who wants to keep running over the same ground:

See, the problem with this thread is that it has turned into a "If you care about the shirt you don't care about the tragedy" which is farcical.

I care about what happened to Ade... AND I'm bemused that he ended up wearing an Arsenal Football Club jersey on global TV.

You can be both you know. Those of us who think it was a fuckup aren't evil and heartless. It WAS a fuckup, and if you're not allowed point that out because a tragedy happened previously, then you're masking your point of view.

Its not nearly as important as people dying and to my knowledge, nobody in this thread said it was.

So for all the people who keep posting with the "Earth Song" playing in the background, calling for perspective - please consider for one second that some of us a pointing out a fuck up. No more.

I'm still delighted he's alive, I'm still delighted we are the richest club in the world, in fourth place, within touching distance of our rivals (Arsenal included) and that the future is rosey.

This was a minor fuck up in the grander scheme of things, as was Elano bitching to the press, as was Garry Cook on a couple of occassions, but it was a fuck up all the same.

You 2 moderates have changed your fuckin tune haven't you...

I haven't changed my "fuckin tune" one iota my friend.

I was disgusted it happened, it made us look foolish.

I do care about the guy's welfare, I do realise he's been through an irdeal. I do realise that it is not the same as dying. I do realise that terrorism and war is bad. I do have a general good sense of right and wrong.

I'll say it again (for about the fourth time):

In the grander scheme of things (as in life and death) it was a minor fuck up, but a fuck up all the same.

As you can now see its the same tune, feel free to tap your feet and click your fingers ;)

Nothing to do with the tragedy, the guy is wearing an Arsenal shirt, who really gives a fuck? I mean its not like he or any of our players actually support City is it? We've got a team of mercenaries who are here for the money and thus far doing their job very well like merc's should. No one will give a toss about this if he score the winner in hte carling cup or at home to the Scum. Its a t-shirt and hes probably an Arsenal fan at heart, big wow. Bellamy has admitted 10000000000 times he's a Liverpool supporter and SWP has said the same about Arsenal. Sell them all.

Who gives a fuck?
Seems quite a few fans who support him. Some of you dont, some of us do and think that somebody in the position of Ade should give more consideration to his actions and give some thought to how he is going to be portrayed. We all feel for him for the nightmare he has just had to endure but surely he must realise that his public image is something that is going to be scrutinized by millions of people around the world and with that in mind surely it is dissrespectful to the people who support him to be seen as he was.

The guy is clearly still in shock after a terrifying ordeal and still in mourning for his friends/colleagues. I am sure his public image is the last thing on his mind right now.

We need to keep this in perspective.

This whole situation is tricky. I wouldn't say im enraged by the whole ordeal, its just a very very stupid mistake on ades part, and a bit disrespectful. No one is taking anything away from the tragedy that happened, and im sure its safe to say not a single person is minimalizing it. I understand that his head is in pieces, but if it is why is he even taking interviews? We know he is ok, the club are apparently in contact with him, so he shouldn't even be accepting interviews, he should just be spending time with his family reflecting on the tragedy of his friends, and staying away from the public eye. And the excuse of having little clothes is a shit one, the guys is loaded and im sure that there are plenty of places in togo that sell the national team kit.
