I loved Kinky but it irks me when people come out with this. He played for better teams than us from 1998 onwards and was largely shit.
A gifted player who we were lucky to hang onto for two second tier seasons, yes, but he would be nowhere near this current matchday squad.

The point i am making is that his close control touch balance and box of tricks means they are very similar in style. Kinkladze was at his peak at city but didn't have players of a similar wavelength around him at the time - payet by contrast would.
I think that a combination of injury on the field and temptations off the field did for him when he left. I make no apologies if my post irked you.

I am always skeptical to jump on someone after one good year but I must say he looked the part and seemed like he could do it all. Navas' work rate is definitely higher but good God at least mahrez can send in a cross and score more often than once every two years. I would love the move actually.
