Seeing Fernando and navas start ahead of sane and Gundogan worried me right away. The pair haven't quite hit the highs yet in their short stay, but navas and Fernando haven't in several years. Why did pep who has not been afraid of upsetting anyone think those two could keep up with a young Spurs side hungry? Was it a genuine mistake or is he being talked round to all this in England rubbish we hear on commentary?
They've also gone bonkers on the not playing the ball to the keeper in England. Pep need to show everyone what he came to do and use the players that can do the job. I know he's not popular anymore but if Fernando is good enough for this system, yaya should be playing.
Gundogan, is not match fit, he will be and it is worth building him up slowly this is a vastly different pace of to Germany, same with Sane, as for Yaya, like hoofing it, not going to happen mate never ever. The sooner fans accept Pep has his style and will not bend for anyone. He fronted out the Barca, board with his determination to succeed his way and look at the legacy, Spurs are a top team and a threat, losing there was on the cards.
The 'Pace' of the game yesterday wasn't fast. We were not as good with our passing going forward.
The ball didn't bounce for us at all and passes seemed to be too erratic.
Still , the own goal was totally avoidable and didn't help the cause, neither does Fernando either.
Even though i thought we should have been set up not to lose. Daft goals like the first one ruin any game plan . Zabba and Otto lunging in around the box doesn't help either.
