Well put JC lol . It wasn't a dig by anymeans but just echoing Piccs point of view as he was at the game like me and saw it in a different perspective .

I get that mate, I'm not feeling too confident at the minute myself but let's try look at some positives too, Watford came last night with spoiling tactics, we managed to overcome that and get a much needed home win and clean sheet.

You see, that's not helpful nor is it the point. Most of us aren't privileged enough to go to every game but sensible folk do understand that if you can be there it can give better insight into the performance. Doesn't invalidate what we see on tv, just adds an extra dimension for those who can appreciate it..

I wasn't at the game last night and thought we worked harder but were weak in the tackle. We produced little in the six yard area because nobody was there. Nacho anyone?
I thought Watford were poor and didn't take their chances like other teams have.
I was happy with the points, the two goals and the clean sheet.

I still think Arsenal will be a true leveller.
If we get through that unscathed, fair enough. I won't get my hopes up yet.

Of course it does, I normally get over to three or four games a year ( although with the arrival of a new baby in my house a couple of weeks back I don't know when the next time will be )so can appreciate being there gives you a different perspective.

Your post smacked of my opinion doesn't matter because I wasn't there, read it again and tell me you can't understand how I interpreted it that way.

And to have an opinion other than 'It was shit!'. Most know that I am a SC holder of many years but can't get to the game due to work. In all my time at the game there's always a vociferous bunch who will always complain, as if blaming all their woes on City. If it goes alright then they sit there mumbling to themselves and when it goes wrong, or perceived in their eyes, then the tirades come. Fucking useless cunt, Get him off, Shower of shit the lot of them, is what you'll hear whilst they turn around to their mate/spouse/child and tell them how they 'Told you so'.

Nothing ever changes and you can't have a decent conversation with them because they are so fixed.

Not to say that there are any of those on here but it stands to reason that there'll be a percentage base who will have a certain inclination to whinge at anything, even when we win.

One thing I will say about last night's games, obviously watching on TV, that it seemed to be one of those good old fashioned English games where everybody dug in for the team. Pep played a typical formation, not going with his favoured concept, and also allowed the players to hoof the ball whenever needed. He's also looked at the tactic of fighting for the second ball which is used to good effect by all English teams.

It may not have looked pretty, and we may have come under a little pressure (what team doesn't, it wouldn't be a sport otherwise), but we walked away worthy winners. Anybody can say that Watford should've scored with their only decent chance but if counter that with the fact we could've scored another 6. It's all just waffle to further the negative argument, just bluster.

So, not the best to watch but 3 points nevertheless and although I'm not confident going up against Arsenal, it's a step in the right direction.

Very welcome and much needed 3 points Beefy yes and that was what last night was all about job done pal . But the "big" picture is in our current plight with injuries / suspensions / tactics / square pegs in round holes etc etc everything is a real struggle right now after so much to be confident and overjoyed about how we started this season . Arsenal have the ability to savage us on sunday it could be an absolute nightmare .

We didn't play great last night and Watford were there for the taking. Yes they parked the bus but that's what we expected.

On the plus side. We broke them down, we saw the game out. We looked better defensively and they only had two chances one was saved and the other was a difficult volley for Ighalo. We changed our tactics in the latter stages and looked to shut up shop and let them have the ball in their own half we packed the midfield and won the second balls too. Yaya was tenacious and was responsible for us winning the ball back for the second goal. Sterling looked positive too.

We didn't try to score from the corner at the end but played the time wasting game in the corner.

I was happy to get the clean sheet and 3 points. Watford tactics were strange though as gomes was still dawdling around on 80 mins and taking his time to take goal kicks. Also their tactic of playing it short and letting the left back hoof it was bizarre

I don't think I remember seeing us run the ball into the corner before. The clean sheet was the single biggest thing for me. Instruction must have been clear around that. DO NOT CONCEDE. Its a building block and it was clear that the players felt the same.

The problem with the 'Big Picture' mate is that sometimes it can get blurred. Some still want us to play idealistic football without key players. Whether through injury or discipline it's irrelevant, they can't be utilised so we need to find alternative routes to win the battles, indivual and as a whole.

Pep himself understands that he's brought some of these problems on us and has at least shown he can be more pragmatic rather than trying to stick to a virtuous system that just didn't work against the good old Premier League route 1. His mentality somehow reached the minds of fans that we should be slaughtering teams in a beautiful way but when it went wrong the world fell in but some wanted the same the following week, proving the old saying attributed to Einstein ;-)

That 'Big Picture' though mate, it should show peaks and troughs in performance and take into account that we won't have the elite there to play the 'Beautiful' Game', even if we have a full list to pick from. That picture needs to show some individual guile that picks the full team up and invokes passion in the crowd, that shit performances can bring results and beautiful ones sometimes don't.

I'm worried regarding this weekend but so was I worried about last night. Pep, and the team, went somewhere to curtailing that worry and whether we win, lose or draw to Arsenal, as long as I see a battling tenacious display from a team set to cover theirs and our strengths, then I can walk away believing that the 'Big Picture' is still in focus.

We've seen that the players haven't really bought into the new system but bought into the system last night, big time.

It wasn't really that we were under pressure and hanging on but there were tons of nerves and worries that Watford might equalise which obviously would have been a disaster. They basically created one chance in the whole game and that was down to Clichy trying to do an Otter and get in front of a player which he clasically failed to do.

The same situation happened a few minutes later and he stood behind the winger and there was no problem. We were not good last night but easily good enough for a poor Watford team who came with a point in mind and maybe 3 as they have been told that City are easy meat. Players played their roles with a bit of caution in mind so we preety well had a defence in place at all times even though the other way around we didn't always have that many in good forward positions or people making good runs.

The win was everything last night.

Yes we won when we needed too but we were hanging on against an awful Watford side who should have equalised late on but missed an absolute sitter , it was Boro MK2 . Everyone I was with at the ground was relieved we won yes BUT it was the same shite we really are fucking awful and a few on here need to wake up and smell the coffee !

How the fuck did our owner miss the trick of all the world class managers in the stands, worst fucking fans on the planet for moaning & negativity. I Sat there last night pissing myself at the clueless cunts in CB level 2, the fuckers were gutted we won I swear. At times It was side splitting crap from ashamed to say blues if your ARE . Stand up if love City, all stayed sat. Support the club my arse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RECORD YOURSELF AND PLAY IT BACK FFS. GET IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA YOU WOULD BE A STAR !

I TOOK MY WEST HAM FATHER IN LAW HE WAS CRYING LAUGHING AT YOUR 90 MINS COMMENTARY OF HATING YOUR OWN TEAM AND PLAYERS ! CLASSIC LINE WHEN GUNDO WENT DOWN "WISH IT WAS STERLING" THE WHOLE GAME YOUR SHIT YOUR SHIT THAT'S SHIT.

What has happened to our fans.

Nothing's changed Hazy, they've always been there hiding in the shadows, tapping their fingers together like Mr Burns, waiting to pounce at any opportunity. Since our takeover their derision has been thrown into turmoil, only getting the odd period to get their angst in. They are very much vociferous when they get chance. A bad pass, a player not 'Tracking back', they'll be there like a coiled spring, on anything that doesn't meet their high standards. They've probably blamed their Dad at some point for getting them into the game, or maybe just City.

Hen I hear it I just see Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets, and smile profusely ;-)
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
