120 minutes + a Zlatan injury and a match 3 days later and then the derby 4 days later. 3 matches in 7 days.

Perfect set up for us

I stand convicted with everyone else of blue hopefulness but it is quite possible they will end up with two cups and a place in the CL, not counting the Community Shield, whereas we could end up with nada.

Hubris does not look good in blue, we must take whatever comes on the chin in the time honoured fashion.

harsh on dortmund. and monaco. and us.

But you cant even compare our poor defense--or Dortmund's--to the likes of Juve, Bayern, and Atletico or even Barca and Real. The way Monaco easily tore our defense and Dortmund's apart was embarrassing. Granted, it could instead be a testament to their offensive masterclass. Thats why I want to see them prove it against a good defense, and there's none better than Juve's BBC right now

I notice you left out the Foxes....
The paradigm has shifted Saul, time to catch up with the Pep revolution - defence is actually the first stage of attack - I think our leader has borrowed this concept from Clausewitz or possibly Pulis.

Perhaps even earlier than Clausewitz JC (I'm thinking of Hannibal at Cannae in 216 BC) ??

Clever. Very very clever! In that case, who is our modern day Publius Cornelius Scipio?

Wow

No. I was listening to the BBC Radio 5 Live commentary, where that brain-dead mouth, Savage, was proclaiming Rashford to be world class.

What are the odds on Real and Atletico being set up to meet in the final and United being given the Ajax route to the other CL final?

God help us if they beat us in the final. That would be a particularly heavy burden to bear.

I know it's hard to work out, but it's a cup competition that we're both involved in at the semi-final stage.

We play one team and they play another so there's a theoretical possibility that both of us could win and meet in the final next month.

Is that enough of a clue?

Phew.....that's a cracking question BJ.

No-one seems to immediately spring to mind but, if pressed very hard, I might suggest (daft as it may seem) 'Arry of the Brown Envelopes.

If you had any suggestions BJ - or if anyone else did - I'd love to hear them but we might consider such in the 'Off Topic' section, as it would make a great thread all of its own.

What a terrific question though :P :P

nice the way uefa drew madrid vs madrid guaranteeing a spanish team in the final.

I am sick of the effing spanish bullshit in europe . I mean Tranaldo player of the year ! really.

Sick of watching refs bottle it with this lot of degenerates. sick of watching players jump and bitch and moan at the ref cos their hair do was touched.

Everything about Spanish footy is crap. I mean how can a Spanish bank be in every fciking neighbourhood (Santander) ? ah you say corrupt of course , like their football.

yet if Real had drawn Monaco some would've complained about big, bad Real getting the "easiest" draw
