What with Virgil telling us to stuff our £200k a week and leaving us for Klopp on half pay, Mbappe staying at Monaco and signing for Madrid for £117.5m both at the same time and all our other nailed on signings falling off in the international break - it's a very bleak Monday on Citywatch.

Surely the internationals have a massive bearing on things slowing up, players won't be allowed to swan off from camp, national coach's will not allow imo.

Perhaps Mendy, Ederson and even possibly VVD are agreed in principal but medicals and maybe final talks with player need to be done before its official.

Same applies to scouse in regards to VVD he's not theirs yet. That said like a previous post of mine and plenty of others, he's not worth the figures being touted about and I still haven't seen where any half credible sources that say us or them, just rumours being regurgitated and no one actually hadng anything near credible.

This one seems very plausible, ticks a lot of boxes. He would not be a bad signing.

I could still see us going for Mendy though, not sure what fee Bertrand would command, but with a shortage of full backs at the club currently I could see us picking up more than one signing in this position, plus it takes the pressure off as we aren't 'desperate' to sign a full back so improves our bargaining position.
