I read something similar, can't find the article though, it suggested that FIFA, US Soccer and CONCACAF would all have to sanction the game going ahead.

Spain’s La Liga has announced that it plans to play regular league matches in the United States as part of a new 15-year deal but it can be revealed that the move has big hurdles to overcome before it becomes reality.

Fifa, US Soccer and the Concacaf federation will have to authorise the matches, which could prove problematic if they are viewed as impacting on tournaments already in the country, such as Major League Soccer.

The board of US Soccer held a meeting yesterday in which the issue was raised. It is understood that some figures in the organisation have reservations about the prospect of league fixtures from another country being played in the US.

La Liga are going to stage a game in the US, maybe as early as this season. Unfortunately, can see this happening in the PL soon. The day I have to give up a game at our ground so some fat American cunt can whoop and holler like an inbred toddler, is the day I turn my back on footy
