This time, we play poorly...Win...and some are miserable.
Maybe it says more about being miserable than City....:-)

Made me smile 2...NQDP sees city play poorly and is positive...Good on'yer Antti mate...Glass half full time???....:-)

Mate, like I said above, I'm always happy when we win. Sure it was not exactly one for the video collection but the lads did what was expected of them and what they are paid to do.

And yeah, beating shit teams with below average performance makes me believe we are on right course. When we start beating sides like these routinely, then we can start serious looking for that top four spot.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I hear all the stuff about we would have drawn that game a while ago bla bla bla and have to agree we messed up some games up big time so the result today was the absolute priority.

We got the result and hopefully Mancini will again have learned a lot about the team and certain individuals.

AGREED...ANYONE THAT THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD DISPLAY BY US IS AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES.

WE WERE DIRE AND IF WE WERE PLAYING ANOTHER EVERTON TYPE TEAM TODAY WE WOULDNT HAVE GOT ANYTHING FROM THE GAME...IN FACT WE WOULD HAVE LOST.

IT WAS A CRAP PERFORMANCE WITH A FEW NICE TOUCHES HERE AND THERE.........THE COMMENTATORS OVER HERE WERE SPOT ON WITH THEIR ANALSIS.

that's so fucking ridiculous statement that I don't know what to say really.

It wasn't the best performance ever but to even compare that to Pearce football is laughable. Or just amazing.

The football was just as boring and lacklustre as it was under Pearce. Difference being the one real chance we got today fell to Adebayor, not Corradi.

Ireland readin Adebayors run and giving him inch perfect pass can hardly be described as chance "falling" to Adebyor. Oh, and we scored twice. Just in case you didn't notice. And hit the post. And Ireland was inches away from scoring. And so on.

Players playing out of position is really starting to get on my tits. Not just because of Mancini but because of several previous managers as well.

Whats the point in playing Petrov (who has no right foot whatsoever) in the middle or on the right? No crosses into the box which reduces the chances Manu gets up front. When players have special abilities (Petrovs crossing) or natural assetts (Manu's height) why don't we exploit them instead of making it easier for the opponent to defend against us?

I just feel frustrated because if that Pompey shot which hit the woodwork before we scored had gone in i think they could have stolen a point if not walked away with three points altogether, and more dissapointingly DESERVED them!

Absolutely ridiculous. First of all, they didn't deserve shit. Second, we never even stepped to second gear. Had they scored one, we would've scord two. Which we did even if they didn't score.

Poor this, worst that. We won, I'm happy with that, sure I'd loved to of seen a better game as well but we can't do that every week, every game. As others have said, we got 3 points which is the main thing, having x amount of games in hand mean jack unless you win them. This and the next few look an excellent chance to do just that.

It was a great pass. Never said it wasn't. My point was, if Ireland had given a great pass like that under Pearce, the chance wouldn't have fallen to Ade but Corradi. He would have missed/fallen over.

Yes. 41 pts. We are officially safe from relegation and can start thinking about mid table respectability!

petrov does two things well when on the right. he plays the cross-field pass, and shoots well from the edge of the box when it's laid off to him.
today there was no pace on the left hand side to make his cross-field ball effective (needs a bellamy). neither was there anyone holding up the ball at the edge of the box to lay it off to him.
i'd rather see him on the left, but if you're gonna play him on the right, he needs help to be effective.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

To beat today's Portsmouth side you don't have to be Brazil 1970. You have to score more than Portsmouth. Efficiency is what wins Italy World Cups and a lack of it is what wins England precisely fuck all. And even Brazil 1970 didn't play like Brazil 1970 every bloody week.

So yes, I am happy we won.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

No, because we won and yes because of the tactics. Players didn't know what their position was and the amount of respect we showed them was unreal - unless we were just unsure? Wait, does that come back to tactics?

Lucky we've got players who can score, eh?
