He was watching the same game as me then - when they switched strikers and tactics we started to struggle and pellegrini did nothing to compensate their new attacking threat - yes we had some of our own chances, one of which we took but we were up against it in the second half and could easily have walked away with fewer points

Oh, asnd look at that. 2 quick offside decisions given against us when Sergio was clearly on. 20 seconds later it's in the back of our net.
I'd say it's the worst refereeing performance since ........... But they're have been so many it's become a running joke.

Were they definitely onside mate? I only ask because the cunts never showed a replay, in real time he looked on.

There was 3 all together for Sergio. The first seemed just off but the second, with the aid of rewind/pause is clearly on by at least half a yard, and he would've been clear through. That would have been a clear goal scoring opportunity for someone like Sergio, one on one with the keeper. That last was dead level but it would've been hard as about 6 players swarmed around him. Still, we would've had the ball and it probably wouldn't have led to their second goal.
Interesting that you mention about them not showing it. It's become commonplace in many games now but only if it suits the broadcaster. I've looked for the same thing with the likes of the Rags but they seem to show every one that doesn't go their way, making it a real talking point whereas it's shrugged off if it goes for them.
It's the nuances like this that I look for. A bit sad I suppose but eh, it's me.

Beefymcfc wrote:Most definitely on mate. He'd run back from an offside position and was a yard onside before running on goal. It wasn't even difficult to spot if you're watching the line. Interesting point is that the ref would usually cross his arm over the flag indicating he was coming back from an offside position, like he did a little later, but there was none of it, just a straight arm. That says to me, at least, that he couldn't have been sure and 'guessed' that he was offside. The crowd behind him went apeshit as well.
Sergio's attitude said it all though, grabbing the ball and going to punch it in frustration.

We're now averaging more than one shocking penalty decision every two matches.
But lately there is a definite surge in bizarre offside calls against us.
It must be so difficult to play under those conditions. Last night was a perfect example of how bad officiating can change the whole course of the match.
We should have been 4 nil up before they scored. I have seen how we play when we go four nil up and it certainly isn't anything like it was for the last 20 mins of that match.
The officials had the players totally shook.
Disgraceful.
Again.
