The normally good Martin Samuels wrote a shit piece on last night's game. Apparently Kiev dominated us in the second half and will feel unlucky not to have taken a draw from the game. All the usual clichés are in there too, maybe he has been told to tow the line.

We should have put the game to bed already in the first half and in the second we created enough clear-cut chances to make it 5-6 goals.
Samuel must've been drunk.

Never really understood the love in for the fat bearded one. Yes, sometimes he writes nice pieces but it's usually in the context in his thoughts of greater things, to confirm his case as with FFP.

He regularly has a pop and if he wrote that we were dominated he's just being another lazy journo who probably didn't watch the whole game or bothered to actually look at the stats.

I'm just watching the Spurs game from last week and I note that the focus is very much Spurs orientated. They're going on how great Spurs have been, how good they are in front of goal and how much they are dominating. Then, up pops the stat that they've only had 1 shot to our 4. Typically we would dominate but in this case the domination was the other way, Spurs having probably 10% extra possession, but like they say with us, what is possession without scoring?

Obviously that was the first half but when you look at it objectively, you cannot put one team on such a pedastle, such as Sky does with most teams who play us, when the fact is they are trailing on actually chances.

I wonder how Clattenburg does this half?

Most definitely on mate. He'd run back from an offside position and was a yard onside before running on goal. It wasn't even difficult to spot if you're watching the line. Interesting point is that the ref would usually cross his arm over the flag indicating he was coming back from an offside position, like he did a little later, but there was none of it, just a straight arm. That says to me, at least, that he couldn't have been sure and 'guessed' that he was offside. The crowd behind him went apeshit as well.

Sergio's attitude said it all though, grabbing the ball and going to punch it in frustration.

There's been too many decisions not going our way for even the naivist person to just bat off. Penalty decisions, offsides and even the yellow card issue have become a huge pluke on the PLs nose. It's all there for people to see, it's just that people don't want to see it.

And while the media have their favourites and click bait, nothing will change.

I still haven't seen a replay of the fernandinho penalty incident.

We're now averaging more than one shocking penalty decision every two matches.

But lately there is a definite surge in bizarre offside calls against us.

It must be so difficult to play under those conditions. Last night was a perfect example of how bad officiating can change the whole course of the match.
We should have been 4 nil up before they scored. I have seen how we play when we go four nil up and it certainly isn't anything like it was for the last 20 mins of that match.

The officials had the players totally shook.

Disgraceful.
Again.

Beefy as i mentioned in the game thread. On ORF they have a pro ref (retired) to discuss such situations and of the three shouts for a pen last night he was adamant that the last two were clear penalties. Not the UK media mind !

By this morning our match report on the Daily Fail website was slipped to the 8th story. When the scum, scouse, Arsenal play they stay the headline for at least a full 24 hours. Usually as well, there are multiple articles on the same match for those teams that dominate the headlines.

We don't need anymore proof but it still riles me.
